Hotels & Leisure

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo houses a ‘very knowledgeable team’, which always approaches responses based on the client’s business in a very practical way.

The Legal 500

Our Hospitality Group is made up of lawyers specializing in the hotel sector from different areas of legal practice (particularly, corporate & commercial, public, tax and employment).

Born to meet the specific needs of the different operators in the hotel sector, both in the scope of the operation of the business and its investment, the aim is to facilitate decision-making and provide legal certainty with the support of a team that has in-depth knowledge of the legal regime and of the tourism market, particularly the hotel industry.

Our knowledge of the hospitality sector is possible due to our close and direct relationship with the decision makers therein, which enriches our practical vision of the business by adapting and updating the legal solutions for each project accordingly.

The advice that we provide not only focuses on Spain and Portugal as we often accompany our clients in their operations abroad. Our interdisciplinary teams are capable of providing a rapid solution to the main issues in this sector, including the following:

  • Advice in the acquisition and sale of tourism assets
  • Advice on the design of corporate and tax structures for expansion projects for tour operators in general
  • Monitoring of the regulatory framework to advise on business opportunities
  • Drafting and processing of town planning instruments for changes in building use. Processing of municipal and regional licenses for the implementation of touristic uses
  • Hotel contracts, including management, franchise and rental contracts, as well as tourism operation contracts
  • Development of residential products linked to hotel projects ("student halls of residence")
  • Development of theme parks and casinos
  • Conception and implementation of time-share structures including fractions or points programmes
  • Advice and representation in negotiating concessions, with particular attention to the issues that arise with the respective Coast Demarcations by boundaries
