Bio
Ainara Rentería is Of Counsel and Head of the Automotive and Sustainable Mobilityarea at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
She has extensive experience in providing legal advice to multinational companies, recurrently advising different players in the automotive industry, such as major car manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, component manufacturers and large leasing operators, among others. In addition, he has a deep in-house knowledge of the sector that she acquired by leading the legal department of the Spanish subsidiary of a major automotive manufacturing group.
She has led projects related to dealer networks, data protection and privacy and implementation of regulatory compliance programs in the industry, geolocation, WIFI and blockchain in vehicles, carsharing, smart stock systems, digital vehicle sales and strategic contracting in the industry with financial and insurance partners, as well as, commercial contracts in general. She masters consumer and user regulation and advertising, and has advised leasing operators in their entry into the private party channel.
She holds a degree in Law and Economic Sciences from the University of Deusto, as well as a diploma in Insolvency Law from the Madrid Bar Association. She studied US and international Law in the Dallas Academy of American and International Law, Texas, US.
Ainara is recognised in the prestigious legal directory Legal500 as one of the leading professionals of the market in Transport and Manufacturing.
She regularly participates in specialised forums in the automotive industry, especially connected and autonomous cars. She has been a regular speaker at the European Automotive and Mobility Conference of the International Bar Association, among others. She has also published several specialized legal publications.
