Filipe is a Banking and Finance and Corporate and Commercial of counsel at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
He advises on a variety of banking and financial transactions (domestic/cross-border transactions, foreign and domestic financial institutions, insurance institutions and blue chip companies) including debt restructuring and syndicated lending, as well as significant M&A work. Filipe also advises on general distressed lending matters and debt and claims trading.His practice is also focused on advising creditors and borrowers on complex cross-border restructurings and refinancing and banking regulation. He heads the Insurance practice in Portugal, advising on complex insurance matters.
He holds a Law degree and a post-graduation in Securities and Insurance Law from Universidade de Lisboa and a post-graduation in Business Law from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He holds a Master in Legal Science (Banking Law – “The Covered Bonds “) from Universidade de Lisboa. Since 2012 Filipe is an Invited Lecturer at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management. Currently he is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Salamanca.
