Bachelor of Law from the University of the Basque Country (1988)
Master’s Degree (Licence Spéciale) in European Law (Plus Grande Distinction) from the Institute of European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1988–1990).
He was awarded a scholarship from the Basque Government (1998-2000).

He teaches several masters and courses on Competition Law. At present, he lectures on Competition Law at the Institute of Stock Market Studies, ESADE, ISDE, Universitat Abat Oliba-CEU, Universidad Carlos III and Master in Business Law at the Barcelona Bar Association.
He is a frequent speaker in Spanish and European Competition Law Forums: International Bar Association. American Bar Association, Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence, Association Européenne d’Études Juridiques et Fiscales, Asociación Española de Defensa de la Competencia, among others.
