Miguel is partner of the Corporate and Commercial, M&A and Restructuring practice areas at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, commercial, insolvency and restructuring. He is also an expert in the corporate and commercial legislation of Angola and Mozambique.
Miguel joined GA_P from Abreu Advogados, where he was in charge of the Corporate and M&A practice areas. Before that, he was Founding Partner of Avillez Pereira & Associados, foreign lawyer at Maclay Murray & Spens, Edinburgh and Glasgow and associate lawyer at Albuquerque & Avillez.
He holds a degree in Law from Universidade de Lisboa and an LL.M. – Masters of Law Degree from the University of Edinburgh.
He has participated as author and co-author in several specialised legal publications.
Miguel is member of IBA’s (International Bar Association), Corporate Law Section, Insolvency Section and African Regional Forum and is the Portuguese member of the ICC FraudNet. Also, he is member of the International Insolvency Institute and honorary President of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
